Eligibility: RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens or subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who came to India before 01 January 1962, or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (with eligibility certificate from the Government of India).

Educational Qualification (as on 01/04/2026)

Junior Engineer (Civil): Minimum three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute/University/Board with minimum 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD), OR a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Junior Engineer (Electrical): Minimum three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognised Institute/University/Board with minimum 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD), OR a Degree in Electrical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognised University with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Note on Percentage Calculation: Total marks obtained across all semesters/years divided by aggregate maximum marks. A fraction is ignored — 49.99% is treated as less than 50%. For CGPA on a 10-point scale: 6.75 = 60%, 6.25 = 55%, 5.75 = 50%.

Experience (as on 01/04/2026)

Junior Engineer (Civil): Minimum 2 years’ experience (Diploma holders) or 1 year (Degree holders) in execution and supervision of civil construction/maintenance work in office/commercial/residential buildings, with working knowledge of computers and experience in tender preparation. Alternatively, 1-year graduate apprenticeship training in a PSU.

Junior Engineer (Electrical): Minimum 2 years’ experience (Diploma holders) or 1 year (Degree holders) in execution and supervision of electrical installations in large/commercial buildings having HT/LT substations, AC plants, lifts, UPS, DG sets, CCTV, fire alarm system, etc. Alternatively, 1-year graduate apprenticeship training in a PSU.

JE (Civil) Paper I: Building Materials, Estimating/Costing/Valuation, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering.
