Eligibility: SJVN Thermal Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Graduate Apprentices:
- Engineering Trades (Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, Env. Pollution & Control): Full-time 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in the relevant branch from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE.
- HR/IR/CSR: Graduate with 2-year full-time MBA from a UGC-recognized Institute/University with specialization in HR.
- Finance & Accounts: Graduate with 2-year full-time MBA from a UGC-recognized Institute/University with specialization in Finance.
Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
Full-time 3-year Polytechnical Diploma in the relevant branch from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/Board of Technical Education of the State.
Technician (ITI) Apprentices:
Matriculation with a regular full-time ITI course in the respective trade certified by NCVT/SCVT.
Additional Eligibility Conditions:
- Only candidates who are domicile of Bihar State are eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in SJVN/STPL need not apply.
- Candidates who, after completion of their education, have undergone training or job experience of one year or more are not eligible. Candidates with a gap of more than five years between declaration of result and commencement of training are also not eligible.
- Result awaited candidates need not apply. Candidates already registered under BOAT/NAPS need not apply.

Pay Scale: SJVN Thermal Apprentice Recruitment 2026
This is an apprenticeship training programme. No pay scale is applicable. Candidates will receive a monthly stipend as under:
- Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 10,000/- per month
- Diploma Apprentices: Rs. 8,000/- per month
- ITI Apprentices: Rs. 7,000/- per month
Note: No extension of training and employment will be given after completion of the one-year training by SJVN/STPL.
Selection Process
Mode of Selection: Merit-based shortlisting. There will be no written examination or interview.
Eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examinations as per the following weightage:

Training Contract: Selected candidates’ contracts will be registered under BOAT/NAPS Portal.
