Eligibility
Nationality & Domicile: The candidate must be an Indian citizen and an original inhabitant of Assam. The candidate must be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.
Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a Degree from any University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India, or from an institution established by an Act of Parliament, or declared as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification declared by the Government.
Language Proficiency: The candidate should be able to speak Assamese or other official languages of the State, or associate official languages, or any of the tribal languages of the State.
Other Conditions: Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification on the date of submission of their applications. As per Govt. notification no.ABP.69/2019/17 dated 06/11/2019, candidates must submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A at the time of applying for the C.C. (Prelim) Examination.

Selection Process
The APSC CCE 2025 selection consists of two successive stages:
Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

Key Points: Paper-II is of qualifying nature with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. Prelim marks will not be counted in the final merit. There will be negative marking: one-fourth of the total mark assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. The Preliminary Examination serves only as a screening test for the Main Examination.
Stage 2 – Main Examination (Written + Interview/Personality Test)
Candidates shortlisted from Prelim in the ratio of 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies notified per category will be admitted to the Main (Written) Examination, held in Guwahati only.

Answer papers can be written in English or Assamese language.
Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who qualify the written part are called for Interview in the ratio of 1:3 against the number of vacancies. The final ranking is based on merit in the Main Examination (Written + Interview). Allotment of posts is done on the basis of Merit cum Preference.

Mode of Payment: Payment can be made online through the APSC Recruitment Portal. Candidates without internet banking/debit card may visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC). Fee once paid will not be refunded. Application will be summarily rejected if the prescribed fee is not deposited.

- Government servants (permanent/temporary/work-charged) must upload an undertaking at the time of application stating that they have informed their Head of Office/Department about applying for this examination.
Important Instructions
- Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility conditions before applying. Admission to all stages of examination is purely provisional.
- Mere issue of e-Admission Certificate does not imply final clearance of candidature. Eligibility verification is done only after qualifying for Interview/Personality Test.
- If a candidate submits multiple applications due to unavoidable circumstances, only the last application will be considered. Ensure all entries in the last application are correct in all respects.
- Fee paid against one Application Number will not be adjusted against any other Application Number.
- Candidates must choose their Exam Centre carefully. Appearing at a centre/venue other than that indicated in the e-Admission Certificate will result in disqualification.
- Candidates must produce a valid photo identity proof (PAN Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID Card, Passport, Institution ID Card, Govt./PSU ID Card, or Bank Passbook with photograph) in the Examination Hall.
- PwBD candidates in categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected – BA), and cerebral palsy may avail scribe facility. For other PwBD categories, a certificate from Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution is required.
