Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification (Educational): Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (Class 12) examination of the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, or the ICSE examination, or any equivalent examination recognized by the government as per the UP Secretariat Security and Fire Service Rules, 2000 (as amended up to Fifth Amendment-2023), Part-4, Rule-8.

Desirable Qualification (Additional Preference): As per Rule-9 of the above rules, preference will be given to candidates who have served for a minimum of 2 years in the Pradeshik Sena (Provincial Army), OR have obtained the NCC ‘B’ Certificate.

Eligibility Condition for This Examination: Only those candidates who were included in PET-2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025) and have been issued a Score Card by the Commission are eligible to apply for this Main Examination. Candidates who scored zero or negative marks in PET-2025 (either absolute or normalized score) will not be shortlisted.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Mode of Selection: Written Examination (Main Examination / Mukhya Pariksha)

The selection will be based on the Main Examination (Written Examination). Shortlisting for the Main Examination is done based on the normalized score of PET-2025. Category-wise, 15 times the number of notified vacancies (including all candidates up to the final cut-off normalized score up to 2 decimal places) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

How to Apply

Candidates applying for state government jobs under UPSSSC must follow these steps carefully:

  1. Visit the official UPSSSC website: upsssc.gov.in
  2. Go to the “Live Advertisement Segment” on the Homepage and click on the relevant advertisement (Advertisement No. 09-Exam/2026).
  3. Login using your PET-2025 Registration Number and OTP sent to your registered mobile number/email.
  4. Verify your pre-filled personal details (name, father/mother’s name, UP domicile, category, EWS, horizontal reservation, date of birth, gender, marital status, contact details).
  5. Select the post(s) for which you wish to apply and provide educational qualification details (board/institution name, passing year, certificate/roll number, marks).
  6. Give preference order for departments/posts.
  7. Enter the Verification Code displayed on the registration page and click “Submit.” Download and print the generated Application Form (11-digit registration number).
  8. Pay the fee online via Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan. After successful payment/reconciliation, the form will be auto-submitted.
  9. Application corrections (permissible fields only) can be made up to 06 July 2026.

Only one application per candidate is to be submitted for the advertised posts.


Important Instructions

  1. All reserved category candidates of UP must mention their category in the application form.
  2. If a candidate claims more than one reserved category, only the most beneficial relaxation will be allowed.
  3. Candidates who are not domiciled in UP will not get reservation benefits and will be treated as unreserved.
  4. Ex-servicemen who are retired/will retire from service by 29-06-2026 are eligible for reservation under the applicable UP reservation act.
  5. UP outstanding sportspersons must submit a certificate from the competent authority (as per the UP Outstanding Sportspersons Direct Recruitment Rules-2022).
  6. For female candidates of UP, only the father’s side caste certificate is valid.
  7. Candidates claiming Freedom Fighter dependent status must ensure the relevant state government order (dated 21 April 2015) based certificate is available.
  8. PwD candidates must ensure the updated disability certificate (as per UP Government notification dated 18-04-2022) specifying type and percentage of disability is available.
  9. Government employees (central or state) must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer before participating in the selection process.
  10. State government employees in service will get a maximum age relaxation of 5 years.
  11. EWS candidates applying under EWS reservation must hold the EWS certificate issued between 01-04-2026 to 29-06-2026 based on income of financial year 2025-26 and valid for 2026-27.
  12. The date of birth mentioned in High School/equivalent certificate will be the only accepted proof of date of birth.
  13. All information/notices will be uploaded on UPSSSC website only. No individual communication will be made by the Commission.
  14. For online application difficulties, contact the Commission on any working day via upsssc.gov.in or at the Commission office.
  15. Male candidates who are married and have more than one living wife, or female candidates who have married such a man, are not eligible (unless exempted by the Governor).
  16. If a candidate submits more than one application, only the last submitted application will be accepted.
