Candidates must fulfil any ONE of the following three qualification routes:

Qualification Route 1 — B.Sc. (Chemistry) + NCVT AO(CP):

Full-time and regular B.Sc. (Chemistry) Degree from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institution with Physics as one of the subjects during any of the three years of the course, AND passing of the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) examination in the Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) i.e. AO(CP) Trade. The NCVT in AO(CP) Trade must necessarily be completed after passing B.Sc. (Chemistry).

Minimum Percentage: 55% marks in the last year or average aggregate of the last two semesters of B.Sc. (Chemistry) (50% for SC/ST candidates).

Qualification Route 2 — Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology + BOAT (1 Year):

a) Full-time and regular Three Years’ Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institution, and successful completion of 1-year Training (BOAT) under the Apprentice Act, 1961 (Amendment 1973).

OR

b) Candidates with HSC (Science) who received direct admission to the second year/3rd Semester of the above Diploma, and completed 1-year BOAT training after passing the Diploma.

Minimum Percentage: 55% in the last year or average of the last two semesters of the Diploma (50% for SC/ST candidates).

Qualification Route 3 — Sandwich Pattern Diploma (4 or 3½ Years):

a) 4-year (8 Semesters) or 3½-year (7 Semesters) full-time regular Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology under Sandwich pattern from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institution.

OR

b) Candidates with HSC (Science) who received direct admission to the second year/third Semester of the above Sandwich Diploma.

Minimum Percentage: 55% in the last year or average of the last two semesters of the Diploma (50% for SC/ST candidates). Industrial Training of 1 year/6 months included in the course duration is counted within the Sandwich pattern.

Note: Allied branches with the respective discipline nomenclature on a primary position (e.g., Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering) are acceptable. Courses where the discipline name does NOT appear on a primary position (e.g., Automation and Robotics Engineering, Power and Energy Engineering) are NOT acceptable.
