All posts (5/26 to 11/26) require Class X pass or equivalent from a recognized Board. Additionally:

This one-time relaxation applies only to Post Codes 5/26, 6/26, 8/26, and 9/26. It does not apply to Post Codes 7/26, 10/26 and 11/26.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure a minimum of 33% marks in aggregate in the written examination. Candidates securing less than 33% shall be deemed ineligible for selection.

General Awareness: Current events, History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/International Organizations. State-specific questions may also be asked.

General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: Analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, visual memory, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, number series, abstract ideas and symbols.

Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: Number Systems, Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs.

English Language & Comprehension: Spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/misspelled words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, sentence improvement, active/passive voice, direct/indirect narration, cloze passage, comprehension passage.

Stage-II: Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Trade Test

Candidates shortlisted for Stage-II will be in 1:3 ratio subject to minimum 33% aggregate in written examination.

Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET and Trade Test but must qualify PST.

Candidates for Post Codes 5/26 and 6/26 must additionally qualify a Trade Test (playing band/bugle).
