Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a BE / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in one of the six engineering disciplines from a University/Deemed University or Institution recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Applicants must also possess a valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 Score in the same discipline as their qualifying engineering degree. GATE scores of 2023 or earlier will not be accepted.

Age Relaxation: Cumulative age relaxation for candidates eligible in more than one category is capped at a maximum of 56 years. There is no upper age limit for existing NPCIL employees who otherwise meet the prescribed criteria. Reserved category candidates applying against unreserved posts will not be entitled to any relaxation. PwBD age concession applies irrespective of whether the post is reserved for PwBD, provided the post is identified suitable for the relevant disability category.

Mode of Selection:

The selection process consists of two stages:

Stage 1 – GATE Score Based Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for Personal Interview in a 1:12 ratio based on valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 scores. Equal weightage is given to scores from all three years. PwBD candidates are shortlisted separately in the 1:12 ratio for each reserved disability category. If multiple candidates share the same cut-off marks, all such candidates will be shortlisted.

Stage 2 – Personal Interview: Final selection is based solely on performance in the Personal Interview, subject to medical fitness declared by NPCIL’s authorised medical officer. GATE score carries no weightage in the final selection round.

Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of equal interview marks, the candidate with a higher GATE score ranks higher. If both interview marks and GATE score are equal, the older candidate is ranked higher.

Interview Venues (Tentative): Anushaktinagar, Mumbai (Maharashtra); Narora Atomic Power Station (NAPS), Uttar Pradesh; Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS), Tamil Nadu; Kaiga Generating Station (KGS), Karnataka.

Waitlist: A waitlist equal in number to the main select list will be maintained per discipline and category, valid until 21 September 2026.

Bond: Selected candidates must execute a personal indemnity bond of Rs. 9,18,000/- and a service bond to serve NPCIL for at least three years after successful completion of training.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates must apply online through the NPCIL dedicated recruitment portal at www.npcilcareers.co.in. The online application form will be available from 10 April 2026 (1000 Hrs) to 30 April 2026 (1600 Hrs). The four-step process is as follows:

Step 1 – Registration: Click on Apply > Online Registration. Enter GATE registration number (as on GATE Admit Card), name, discipline, date of birth, category, email, mobile number, and PwBD/exemption details if applicable.

Step 2 – Activation: Activate your account by clicking the activation link sent to your registered email after Step 1.

Step 3 – Fill Application & Submit: Log in using the credentials received and fill in educational qualifications, post-qualification work experience, personal details, interview city preference, reactor stream preference (not required for Civil discipline), and upload photo and signature in JPEG format. Review the draft and click “Submit Application.” No changes are permitted after submission.

Step 4 – Fee Payment (if applicable): Male candidates from General/EWS/OBC categories must pay Rs. 500/- online through the payment gateway. Do not press back or refresh during the payment process.

Candidates must keep their GATE registration number, degree details, percentage of marks, email ID (as used in GATE application), mobile number, and scanned photo/signature ready before applying.


Important Instructions

Candidates must use the GATE Registration Number exactly as printed on their GATE Admit Card. Requests for correction in GATE registration number or discipline will not be entertained. Percentage of marks must be entered exactly without rounding off (e.g., 59.99% must not be rounded to 60%). Categories once filled in the online application form cannot be changed at any later stage. Government/PSU employees must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer at the time of document verification. Candidates must keep their email ID and mobile number active for at least one year as all communication will be made only through registered email.
