Essential Qualifications:
For Warder: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from any recognized Education Board with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language as specified by the Government from time to time.
For Matron: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from any recognized Education Board with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language. Only women can be recruited as Matron.
Note: As per Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994, Rule 17, candidates must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects. Mode of Selection:
The selection process for PSSSB Warder Matron Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages:
- Written Examination (Objective Type / MCQ)

Exam Pattern:
The written examination will be divided into two parts:
Part A: Punjabi language paper at Matriculation (10th) level — qualifying in nature only. Minimum 50% marks required to qualify. Marks from Part A will not be counted in the merit list.
Part B: General subject paper — Objective type with negative marking. Each question carries 1 mark. One-fourth (¼) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Merit list will be prepared based on Part B marks only.
Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of equal marks in the written examination, the tie will be resolved in the following order — (i) Date of birth (older candidate preferred), (ii) Percentage of required educational qualification, (iii) Marks in Matriculation (10th class).
Based on the merit list, candidates will be called for PMT and PET. Candidates who qualify both tests will be called for document verification and counselling. The result will be declared only for candidates who are found fully eligible at the counselling stage.
Note: Roll numbers, syllabus, and other examination-related information will be uploaded on the Board’s website from time to time. No individual communication will be sent to candidates. Candidates in the Sports category will have their merit determined as per Sports Department, Punjab notification dated 09.03.2026.
