Selection Process – NIB Recruitment 2026
The selection process varies by post as follows:
Scientist Grade-II & Scientist Grade-III (Vet.): Computer Based Examination (CBE) — Objective / Multiple Choice — with negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: 60% in CBE. Merit list candidates called for Personal Discussion in 1:10 ratio. Final selection based on: CBE Score (40% weightage) + Credentials/Experience/Publications (30% weightage) + Personal Discussion (30% weightage).
Junior Scientist & Laboratory Technician: Computer Based Examination (CBE) — Objective / Multiple Choice. Qualifying marks: minimum 50% for GEN/EWS/OBC and minimum 40% for SC/ST (reserved posts). Merit list prepared based on CBE marks.
Administrative Assistant: CBE — Objective / Multiple Choice — with 0.25 marks negative marking. Minimum 60% qualifying marks. Merit list candidates called for Skill Test in 1:5 ratio.
Junior Hindi Translator: Two-paper open competitive examination. Paper-I: CBE (Objective/MCQ, both Hindi and English, with 0.25 negative marking) — minimum 50% qualifying marks to proceed to Paper-II. Paper-II: Descriptive — translation (Hindi to English and vice versa), précis writing, essay/paragraph writing in both languages. Final merit list based entirely on Paper-II marks.
Assistant-II: CBE — Objective / Multiple Choice — with 0.25 marks negative marking. Minimum 60% qualifying marks. Merit list candidates called for Skill Test in 1:5 ratio.
