Essential Qualifications:
Teacher (Biology) – Post Code 26017
- Master’s Degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate viz. Botany/Zoology, Life Sciences/Microbiology/Bio-Technology/Molecular Bio/Plant Physiology, provided they have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation level.
- Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.
- B.Ed. from a recognized University/Institution with minimum 50% marks and must have passed HP-TET conducted by H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala, District Kangra or any other Government-authorized agency.
Teacher (Chemistry) – Post Code 26018
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
- Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.
- B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks and must have passed HP-TET.
Teacher (Physics) – Post Code 26019
- Master’s Degree in Physics/Electronics/Nuclear Physics from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

Relaxation in Qualifications:
5% relaxation in minimum educational qualifications is available to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories of Himachal Pradesh.
Important Note: A candidate shall be eligible for engagement only if he/she has passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any School/Institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.

Age Relaxation:

Mode of Selection:
Selection for HPRCA Teacher Recruitment 2026 will be through:
Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Screening Test
- Total Marks: 120
- Duration: 1½ Hours (One and a Half Hours)
- Question Type: Objective / Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Each question carries 1 mark
- Mode: CBT or OMR-based test as decided by HPRCA
Syllabus:
The objective type screening test will consist of 120 MCQs (1 mark each):
- Subject-specific questions up to the level of prescribed essential qualification as notified in the advertisement.
- General Knowledge including General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs.
- General Aptitude: Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English & General Hindi (Matric Standard).

Score Normalization:
In case of multiple-shift CBT, scores will be normalized using the Z-Score Method (Mean and Standard Deviation Method) for merit list preparation.

- Provisional answer key of CBT will be uploaded on the official website after answer sheet freezing.
- Candidates will be given 7 days to raise objections.
- A non-refundable fee of ₹200/- per challenge is applicable.
- Objections will be vetted by an expert panel; result finalized as per revised answer key.
